Le Batut is in the heart of the “Golden Triangle” between Albi, Gaillac and Cordes-sur-Ciel on an upland plateau celebrated for its excellent wine, artistic heritage, pretty 13th century villages and rustic cuisine.

The house is situated in a hamlet near to Cordes, and is surrounded by ten acres of land which includes a large, private pool, both sunbathing and shady terraces, an enormous lawn, woodland, mulberry and fig trees and various options for alfresco dining.

A spacious, 18th century stone farmhouse, Le Batut is furnished with locally-sourced antiques combined tastefully with comfortable beds and sofas and modern appliances. There are 3 large bedrooms and two bathrooms. Two bedrooms have large double beds and the third bedroom, usually the children’s room, has bunk beds and two single beds.

Le Batut is great for children - with space to run around, outdoor table tennis and badminton and the large swimming pool. Inside there are various board games, DVDs and television with a satellite to pick up English news and programmes. There is Wifi in the house.

As well as the hilltop bastide town of Cordes with its great restaurants, nearby St Antonin Noble Val offers canoeing down the river Aveyron and a colourful gourmet market.  Another short drive away is the majestic town of Albi with its rose-coloured cathedral and celebrated Toulouse-Lautrec museum.
