OUTSIDE

Le Batut has 10 acres of grounds belonging to the house, so there is plenty to explore. There are footpaths opposite the house leading to vineyards and woodland. The field behind the house, often planted with sunflowers, belongs to Le Batut, thus ensuring privacy and tranquility.

The front of the house faces South and has a view over the plateau. There is a large dining terrace with a built-in barbeque leading off the living room. This terrace has a terracotta-tiled floor and is protected from the sun by a bamboo roof. Honeysuckle, jasmine and wisteria are growing up supports and hopefully soon will add to the shade.

Opposite the house is a large swimming pool and sunbathing terrace with sunloungers.

Next to the pool is a fully shaded terrace with table and chairs. The terrace faces east and is an ideal option for breakfast or lunch outside.

Alongside the terrace is a changing room for the pool, containing a shower and toilet.

The poolside terrace and bathroom are joined to a barn which is used for winter storage of garden furniture.

There is an all-weather table tennis table which is can be set up near the house.

The garden is looked after by a local gardener and contains many trees and shrubs including a fig and mulberry tree. There are roses around the pool and climbing roses against the house.

MAINTENANCE

The house is well maintained by a team of local people. We ask all our guests to leave the house as clean and tidy as they found it.

There is a gardener and handyman to keep the garden looking good and well irrigated.

Finally, there is a competent man to maintain the pool and keep the water in the best condition.

If there are difficulties there is an English speaking person to contact locally.
